The Best 90 Days of Your Year Are Still Ahead.

The Quarter-Zip Sweater Club.

It’s mid-October, and a predictable, pathetic shift happens in most business owners' minds. They mentally close the books. They see the remaining three months as a wind-down period, a slow, comfortable slide into the holidays.

Everyone is coasting into January. And that, right there, is your ultimate head start.

If you treat Q4 as the end of the year, you are already losing to competitors who see it for what it is: the foundation of next year. The best 90 days of your year are still ahead, but only if you have the discipline to exploit the exact moment we all decide to take our foot off the gas.

Think about your industry right now. Your competitors are planning their holiday schedules. They are deferring major decisions until "after the new year." They are letting their sales teams get lazy, accepting the tired excuse that "nobody buys in Q4." They start accepting delayed meetings and pushbacks without a fight. It is a collective delusion of mediocrity, and it is costing them market share.

While they are running out the clock, you need to be running up the score. Q4 isn't about quietly closing out the year; it’s about making sure that by January 1st, you are already cruising while everyone else is still stuck on the runway trying to remember how to start the engine.

I don’t just preach this; I execute it myself. I have a grueling, day-long planning session scheduled with a fellow coach. We aren't getting together to pat each other on the back for a good year or share superficial wins.

We are stripping our operations down to the studs, aggressively challenging every assumption, and meticulously mapping out our strategies for 2027. We are tearing apart what didn't work and doubling down on what did. By Thanksgiving, my entire playbook for next year will be locked, loaded, and already in motion.

You cannot afford to wait for the ball to drop to figure out how you'll scale your business. If you wait until January to plan for the year, you have already wasted the first quarter. Q1 revenue isn’t generated in Q1. You secure it now, in the final 90 days of the preceding year.

To pull this off, you have to be ruthless with your focus. Strip away the vanity projects. Ignore the end-of-year administrative distractions that make you feel busy but don't drive revenue.

Look at your pipeline and operational bottlenecks, and identify the specific levers you can pull right now to accelerate your momentum instantly. Hold your team to a higher standard this quarter than any other. When they give you the "holiday season" excuse, shut it down.

Stop letting the calendar dictate your ambition. You have 90 days. That is a massive amount of time for a focused operator to steal clients, secure new contracts, and position their company to dominate. Let your competitors rest. Let them coast. Let them think the game is over. You have work to do.

TAKE ACTION: Pull up your calendar right now and block out a four-hour window this week. Not next month. This week. Label it "2027 Strategic Lockdown." Turn off your phone, close your email, and answer one brutal question: What exact moves must I make in the next 90 days to ensure my Q1 revenue shatters my current records? Write the plan. Then execute it while everyone else sleeps.
